Happy April Fools 2020!

Happy April Fools! Here’s a bonus joke chapter (warning, I’m serious, this is a prank chapter!) link here.

Well, hope you enjoyed that joke chapter. And now, one of the translators has also decided to translate a short poem by a Japanese poet that he’s been addicted to lately. It’s a bit rough cuz he did it in an hour, but hope ya enjoy it!

A Constellation of Emotions

By Okazaki Taiiku

Gathered on my palm, the colors of the wind blow away into nothingness
I tremble in fear, as my body burns away.

I don’t want to believe in anything anymore,
I don’t believe it anymore ’cause I feel sad.
Even if I retreat deep into my memories, nothing will change.

The animals of the world gather together, clamoring
Come hither, mister pig, mister wabbit, miss fox, and miss elephant!
Rejoice together and go “Oom Pah Pah Bunbun”!
Pat your tummy and yell “Yahoo!”

Mister cheetah can outrun anybody,
As he runs to escape the past
Don’t give a fudge with me!

An image of chaos and entropy,
As I fall into the pit of despair.
Answers to questions unasked scatter in the wind,
And yet I cannot find the one answer I seek.

I can no longer see the colors of the wind,
Though I could moments ago.
“Loony!” — “Wha?”

The animals of the world gather together, in a brouhaha
Come hither, mister pig, mister wabbit, miss fox, and miss elephant!
Rejoice together and go “Oom Pah Pah Bunbun”!
Pat your tummy and yell “Yahoo!”

They call out to mister crocodile
Inviting him to join.

But despite all being living things,
they are separated by the wall of categories
Once you partake of the forbidden fruit once,
There is no going back.

The animals of the world gather together,
Come hither, mister pig, mister wabbit, miss fox, and miss elephant!
Rejoice together and go “Oom Pah Pah Bunbun”!
Pat your tummy and yell “Yahoo!”

Seeing that wretched figure,
They remember the value of sympathy,
And call out to mister crocodile.

TL Note: Here’s a Link to the poem read to music. Enjoy! Check out the poet’s other stuff while you’re at it (This one’s mostly in english, so it should be fine without a translation). Anyways, back to my hermitage, where I shall study.
